NarrativeForge help · Audio and voices
Find where the sound stops
Separate NarrativeForge audio playback problems from voice setup or generation failures, with edition-specific checks and a focused support path.
For Cloud
- Check whether the browser tab is muted and press Play explicitly. The website’s prepared recordings also have a readable transcript and sound-off path.
- For app generation, record any displayed provider or quota message without copying API keys into support. Cloud processing differs from local desktop generation.
A few checks to begin with
- First establish whether audio has been generated and can be played. A silent player, a missing voice and a failed generation are different problems.
- Check volume, mute and the selected output device, then try a short known recording. On this website, playback begins only when you press Play.
- If generation failed, keep the existing output and record the selected engine, voice and error. Avoid repeatedly starting a whole-book job to investigate a single line.
If you still need a hand
These details help support understand the problem without asking for your creative work.
- Playback, voice setup or generation—the stage that failed
- Selected engine and voice, with any displayed error
- Whether a short existing recording plays successfully
