You can begin here with an idea, a draft or a finished manuscript. Choose the task closest to your story and give yourself one small piece of work to complete.
1. Choose a useful outcome.
For a new book, write a character’s immediate problem. For a screenplay, draft an exchange in which two people want different things. For an audiobook, choose a passage that will test the narration approach.
2. Try a change in a small example.
Use an original scene to practice before applying a change to your own manuscript. Keep the first version, change one meaningful decision and describe the effect in a sentence.
3. Explore your edition.
